What you’ll learn
Practical judgement, not just awareness.
After completing this course, your team won’t just know that AI has risks. They’ll know exactly what to do when they meet one, and they’ll use AI with more confidence because they understand how it actually works.
Topics covered
- Everyday AI use cases
- How AI generates answers
- Fluency vs accuracy
- Personal and special category data
- Commercial confidentiality
- Data minimisation
- Shadow AI
- The four-point check
- Output verification
- Accountability and disclosure
- Copyright and IP risk
- Human in the loop
- Incident reporting
Recognise where AI genuinely helps with everyday office work — drafting, summarising, reformatting, analysing
Explain how AI produces an answer, and why confident-sounding doesn't mean correct
Decide what's safe to put into an AI tool before you type it, using a four-point check that takes seconds
Spot the information that has to stay out: personal data, indirect identifiers, special category data, commercially sensitive material
Verify AI output properly — knowing which claims are load-bearing, and noticing what's been quietly left out
Own AI-assisted work, and know when the person receiving it would want to be told AI was involved
Recognise when AI has shifted from helping to deciding, and challenge it rather than rubber-stamp it
Know when to flag something, and recognise the excuses people use to stay quiet
Demonstrate completed AI safety training with a certificate suitable for audit and compliance records
Who it’s for
For office teams using AI tools every day.
This course is built for anyone working in an office environment. It's perfect for all members of staff who use everyday office tools, from grads to CEO. It targets a wide range of situations that come up in office-based roles.
Knowledge workers
Anyone using ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini or similar tools to draft documents, summarise research, or analyse data as part of their day-to-day role.
Finance & ops teams
Staff handling sensitive internal data such as budgets, forecasts, or supplier contracts, who need to understand the risks of using AI tools with that information.
Client-facing roles
Sales, account management, and customer success teams who work with client data and need clear boundaries around what can and can't be shared with AI tools.
Office managers
Roles that handle a broad range of confidential information — correspondence, HR matters, exec communications — and are increasingly using AI to manage workload.
Course modules
Five modules. One complete picture.
Each module builds on the last, from how AI works to what that means in your role.

How AI is helpful and what it's doing
AI is already doing everyday office work: drafting, summarising, reformatting, turning notes into something usable. This module covers where it genuinely helps, and how it actually produces an answer — predicting likely words, not looking anything up. That gap is why a fluent, confident answer can still be wrong.

What can I safely share with AI?
Not everything belongs in a prompt. This module builds a four-point check covering personal data, indirect identifiers, special category data, commercially sensitive material, and how much you're pasting. It also covers why people reach for a personal account under time pressure — and why the same tool on a personal login isn't the same tool.

Check what AI gives you back
AI output can be confident, fluent and wrong. This module covers which claims are load-bearing enough to verify, how to notice what's been left out of an answer that sounds complete, and why reading something through isn't checking it. If your name is on it, you own it.

Spotting higher-risk AI use
Risk rises the moment AI could shape a decision about a real person. This module covers the line between AI helping and AI deciding, what meaningful oversight actually looks like — including the closed-screen test — and when to flag something rather than talk yourself out of it.

- High-risk AI use
- Human in the loop
- The closed-screen test
- Incident reporting
Now you can make the right call
The final module puts it together. Learners work through realistic workplace situations: running the four-point check, judging whether oversight is meaningful, telling a real review from a tidy-up, and deciding when something needs flagging.

- Applied judgement
- The four-point check
- Meaningful oversight
- Knowing when to report

What does the certificate look like and how is it issued?

Is this course relevant to UK legislation?
Yes. The course is designed with UK workplace obligations in mind — including UK GDPR requirements around lawful basis for AI use involving personal data, ICO guidance on Data Protection Impact Assessments for high-risk AI, and awareness of the EU AI Act for teams with EU customers. The course content is reviewed and updated as the regulatory landscape evolves.
Do learners need any technical background?
None at all. The course is built for everyday office workers — not IT teams or developers. The scenarios are set in situations your team will actually recognise: drafting documents, summarising reports, handling client data. No prior knowledge of AI is required.
How long does the course take?
The full course takes approximately 75 minutes across five modules. Learners can pause and resume at any point — there's no session timer. Each module takes around 15 minutes.
What happens inside a module?
You watch a short scenario video, then talk it through with the AI tutor. It asks questions and follows your reasoning, and learning points unlock as you reach them. There's no test at the end — the conversation is the assessment.
